Our New Look

So, how do you like it?

This picture was captured in February when we had family pictures taken. Although our little man is normally so easy-going and sweet, he did not appreciate his sisters kissing his cheeks at once.

We asked a graphic designer at David's office if she would work up a header for us using the picture and this is what she came up with. Do you like it as much as I do?

We're still tweaking the background and coloring...or should I say, David is still tweaking the background and coloring.

I'm constantly thinking of things I should post and pictures I should show you, but once the house is quiet in the evening, it just feels too good to sit on the couch and do nothing. But we're still here, rest assured, and I will post soon. I promise.

Our Baby Boy

Here we are, June 23rd. Our sweet baby boy is one year old today.

One year ago today, we welcomed this amazing little guy into our lives.

I just can't explain what a blessing he has been to us. He is mild-mannered, easy-going, and snuggly sweet.

He loves being near his sisters and us.

He loves being held close.

He loves Ally's pink Polly Pocket car.

He loves pears and bananas. Whole, not baby food.

He loves walking behind anything that will move.

He loves stealing his sister's sippy cup.

He loves throwing balls.

He loves climbing the stairs.

He loves music.

He loves pots, pans, and Tupperware.

He loves kissing, with his teeth.

He loves wrestling.

And we love him. So much.

Happy first birthday, sweet Christopher.

IRRESISTIBLE

Ally and Christopher were running (and crawling) through the sprinkler on a hot afternoon last week. Chris got wet enough for me to play with his hair and grab the camera...and here are the results.
OH MY WORD...I AM LOVING THIS KID!

Another Milestone

Ally attended her last day of kindergarten today. Yesterday was supposed to be field day, but it was a rainy mess. So today became field day, making the last day of school take place outdoors, with water games and over-excited kids. Ally was not overly impressed with field day, and I think her emotions were bittersweet. She is excited at what the summer holds and the prospect of first grade in a matter of weeks, but she was sad to say goodbye to all of the memories that kindergarten held.

Allyson is such a different person today than she was 9 months ago. Take a look:

And today, on her last day:

And here she is, coming out of school at the end of school the first day... (can you see her? she's right in the middle)...

and today... (again, right in the middle, green skirt)

She was exposed to a whole new world in kindergarten, so much of which I'd like to remove from her brain! But overall, she had a very successful year and is thriving.

I cried went she left this morning. (I know, big shock.) I can't really explain the emotion...David thought I would cry because of the long days ahead of me, trying to entertain her all day! But, no, I was teary because my sweet baby girl is just so big.

Enough about me.

Happy Graduation, sweetie! We are so proud of you!

"Nappo Pease!"

Natalie is old enough now to retrieve her own cup from the fridge when she wants a sip 38 times a day. I don't always pay much attention to her forays into the fridge, but today I noticed she pulled out a Christopher's sippy cup containing leftover breast milk from a few days ago.

She looked at me, as if asking permission...I nodded my assent, thinking she surely wouldn't do it.

But she did.

She took a small-ish sip and took a moment to process the situation.

She then calmly stated, "Mama, I nee a nappo." (Translation: I need a napkin.)

I handed her a napkin, which she promptly used to wipe off her tongue.
