Labor Day

We have found that on holidays (or Saturdays) it is best to fill the day with various activities to keep everyone happy. One Saturday, not too long ago, we got up and said, "Let's just stay home and get some work done!" We regretted that decision approximately an hour later when we were all screaming at each other.

So anyway, this was our Labor Day.

1. Visit Staples, Office Max, and Target to compare office chairs. This is what that shopping excursion looked like.

2. We ate lunch at Taco John's. We splurged on Choco Tacos for everyone. Worth. Every. Penny.

3. We went to a long, but very enjoyable, parade in downtown Janesville. We ran into our senior pastor and his wife, who invited us to join them.

Natalie's diaper called it quits and leaked everywhere, so she enjoyed the parade sans skirt. She didn't seem to mind.

We're pretty sure we saw Elvis. Just not sure what brought him to Janesville.

4. Went home and tried to lay down the little ones for a nap. Only worked with Natalie.

5. David assembled his new office chair. With a little help.

6. The children played with the office chair box.

7. Ate a Labor-Day-ish meal of burgers and hot dogs on the grill. We even ate outside...we should probably do that more often.

8. We played outside for a bit and chatted with the neighbors.

9. Gave the kiddos a bath.

10. Put three of our five family members to bed.

11. Sat down to email, check my favorite blogs, and here I am.

That was, quite possibly, much more than you wanted to know about our day. But since we captured a few cute pictures, I had to record it here.

Now, in 2029, when Christopher is 20, Nat is 21, and Ally is 25, when they say, "What did we do for Labor Day in 2010?" We can say, "Look it up!" So there you go.

Looks like you all had a great time... better than us... we moved furniture all day... I have the bruises to prove it!

We miss you all and hope to see you soon.

Love, Paula
